The Guerrero Student Center is excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) with a wide variety of programming and collaborations. Throughout the month, students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to participate in these culturally enriching endeavors.

Mexican painter Octavio Ocampo will present a reproduction of his iconic portrait of Cesar Chavez as a gift to the Guerrero Student Center. Join us in the dedication ceremony along with sponsors, Mexican American Studies and the Mexican Consulate.

AROMAS w/ special guest Mercedez Holtry, Spoken Word Poet

Come to our first AROMAS of the semester to meet our abuelitas, eat delicious homemade food, and kick off Hispanic Heritage Month! There will also be a performance by Albuquerque poet, Mercedez Holtry. Holtry is a writer, student, mentor and Chicana feminist who shares her roots, experiences and lessons learned through spoken word poetry.
