Qualifications for this award include personal integrity, initiative, cooperativeness, enthusiasm, humility, well-rounded interests, active participation in student affairs, service to the University, willingness to give more than required, love of God and country. This is a medal and cash award.
The Provost Award honors an outstanding graduating student who transferred to the UA with at least 36 transferable units from an Arizona community college. Criteria for the award include perseverance and commitment to academic studies, contributions to the UA community and scholastic ability, citizenship, and leadership.
During the fall of 1987, the Graduate College and the Division of Campus Life established awards to recognize outstanding achievement and contributions of graduate students at the University of Arizona who have shown academic achievement despite facing challenging social, economic, or educational obstacles.
Presented by the Dean of Students Office SafeCats program, this award was created to recognize the difference that one person can make in the life of another and is awarded to UA students, staff and faculty.
During the month of April the Fraternity and Sorority Programs office along with 23 different fraternities and sororities partnered with the local Big Brothers Big Sisters Tucson Chapter for a clothing drive. This partnership effort yielded 1,780 pounds of donated clothing goods. Big Brothers Big Sister matched $.20 per pound. A donation check in the amount of $356.00 will be given to the local Big Brothers Big Sisters Tucson Chapter on behalf of UA Greek Life to continue the mission of providing one-to-one mentoring relationships for youth ages 6 through 18 in the BIGS program.
