April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

In the United States April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities on how to prevent it.

Sexual violence is a major public health, human rights and social justice issue. UA Wildcats will come together in solidarity to “Take Back The Night” on the UA Mall on Wednesday, April 19th from 5:30p – 7:00pm and march to the Women’s Plaza of Honor in support of survivors who will speak out and share their stories of experience, strength and hope.  The Women’s Resource Center has collaborated with other student groups to facilitate various workshops and events around sexual assault and violence prevention during the month of April.  Please join us as we not only raise awareness around sexual assault, but move the needle on violence prevention to ensure a culture and campus community of safety and respect!
