For Women’s Herstory Month, the WRC will be hosting Feminist Learning and Liberation Conference. A one-day conference for folks of all gender identities to engage in feminist social justice topics such as gender, race, and class as well as some hands on workshops like art & bike mechanics. The conference will take place March 17, 2018 on campus, includes breakfast and lunch and is free to attend. High school & college age youth are encouraged to attend.
We are excited that students from SPEAC, Students Promoting Empowerment and Consent as well as Immigrant Student Resource Center will be joining us as facilitators alongside community experts in areas of (dis)ability, sex education, intersectionality, and gender identity, gender expression and/or pronouns. The goal of this conference is to take action through education to foster feminist community, center marginalized identities and struggles, decenter power and privilege and disrupt patriarchy.
