HECMA Welcome Letter

On behalf of the Roundtable Committee, I am pleased to welcome you to the great city of Tucson and to the University of Arizona campus, proud host of the 2014 HECMA Annual Roundtable.  This year marks the 6th anniversary for the roundtable, which has become the most prominent venue for higher education case management professionals from around the country to share information, ideas, network, and cultivate new approaches to our work.  Attendees to this year’s roundtable will be certain to find informative educational sessions, networking opportunities, and resource materials provided by colleagues across the country.

In addition to six break-out sessions and two roundtable sessions, we are pleased to present Professor Peter Lake for the keynote address. We especially appreciate the support of our colleagues in supporting this event, with a special thank you to Campus Health Service, Counseling and Psychological Services and Residence Life for their generosity.

Situated in America’s southwest, Tucson and the University of Arizona offer guaranteed sunshine, scenic desert life, inexpensive accommodations, and easy access to both the roundtable sessions and fun activities in the city.  While famous for its heat, Tucson offers an intriguing mix of natural and cultural resources worthy of exploration.  Roundtable attendees will have the opportunity to sample a broad diversity of ethnic cuisine, locals bars, and nightlife.  Outdoor activities may include a hike through Sabino Canyon or a visit to the Desert Museum.  Many other attractions, including Bisbee, Tubac, and Gates Pass, are only a short drive away.

We encourage you to take advantage of all that the 2014 Roundtable has to offer, from the myriad of cultural and natural attractions to the many opportunities for networking, mentoring, and professional enrichment.

Again, a warm welcome to all of you from the Roundtable Committe. Enjoy your visit to Tucson!
