CIELO PUERTO RICO & DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
DESCRIPTION
Experience Puerto Rican & Dominican culture through food, art, and dance while exploring natural wonders like hiking in the El Yunque National Rainforest and going on a late-night Bioluminescent Kayak tour. Embark through Los Tres Ojos caves and experience a catamaran tour of Isla Saona. Participating in Service Learning projects such as home reconstruction and improvements.
This program offers students from the University of Arizona a unique opportunity to experience and learn about Puerto Rico & Dominican Republic in a firsthand way. Participants will engage with Puerto Rican & Dominican history, culture, and government through service learning, community/cultural engagement, dialogue, and reflection.

- Cost: $3300 (*Note: CIELO is awarding participants a $550 scholarship, which brings the out-of-pocket cost down to $2750)

- Visit to Loíza and participation in Bomba lessons
- Tour hidden gems of Santo Domingo, such as the Los Tres Ojos caves
- Contribution to ongoing community development projects in San Pedro de Macoris
- Work in the Bateyes, communities of sugar cane workers
- Catamaran tour of Isla Saona
